This is a robust machine that consists of a well seasoned cast iron bed, precision work head, grinding wheel spindle, X-axis & Z-axis slide and rotary wheel dressing unit. This machine has inbuilt work holding fixture, work loading and unloading system.

X-axis slide is mounted on the Z-axis at right angles. The slide moves perpendicular to the work head and is driven by AC servo motor via ball screw & nut. The ball screw & nut are connected by a torsionally stiff back lash-free coupling. The slide moves on adequately designed LM Guide ways. Linear scale is also provided for the X-axis slide for a position feedback. A centralized lubrication system is provided for lubrication of LM Guide ways & ball screws.

A Rotary dressing unit is either fixed near the work-head or is of swiveling type which consists of dresser motor & dressing wheel. The work holding system is usually fixed to work head & can be designed as per customer requirements. Automatic loading and unloading arrangements can be provided based on the cycle time requirements.
