Applications

To control the drainage of sediments in the river basins and other water reservoirs.
To prevent overland flow and help in improving storm water management by screening soil particles from water runoff.
Used in combination with sediment basins and sediment traps, as well as erosion controls, which are designed to retain sediment in place where soil is being disturbed by construction processes.
A silt fence is largely used in construction sites to prevent the erosion of wet concrete mixtures.
