Royal blue glazed faience composition shabti for the Chief Scribe of the Temple of Amun in Thebes, Hor-em-akhbit, depicted mummiform, with arms crossed at the chest, left over right, and holding two hoes in his hands, a seed basket on his back, wearing a striped tripartite wig and sashed head band, with two frontal vertical columns of hieroglyphs reading: a Illuminate the Osiris, god's father and scribe of the Amun temple, Horemakhbit, true of voicea , details in black glaze.
The shabtis for Hor-em-akhbit (also written as Hor-Kheby in the modern western world) were excavated in the region of Thebes in the early 19th Century, his funerary group was extensive and examples are displayed in several museums worldwide, including the Louvre, Berlin and Turin.
A papyrus fragment written in hieratic conserved in the Louvre, describes Hor-em-akhbit as the Chief Scribe of the Temple of Amun in Thebes, living during the rule of the grand superior priest Men-Khe-perre.
