The product is an aqueous solution of polyaminophosphates and brominated salts. Flamebloc GS 700 is non-toxic, non-hazardous and contains no petroleum derivatives, PBDEs, or restricted chemicals.Mechanisms and function Flamebloc GS 700 prevents flame propagation by for minga carbon char and by interference within the gas phase of the flame. Some of the proprietary ingredients contribute to flame resistance by melting below flaming temperatures and re solidifying in the form of carbon char. which prevents propogation and weakens any flame by limiting its fuel consumption. The rest of the active ingredients interfere with the flame's internal energy exchange, quelling and preventing flaming. Since open cell foams generally have a low melting point, treated foam will tend to retreat before the flame front,but will not support ignition. Smoke generation is also greatly suppressed.ApplicationFlamebloc GS 700 can be applied by soaking or by vacuum methods. it is crucial to thoroughly saturate the foam with the product; some mechanical manipulation may be required to defeat the air entrapped within the foam. Excess material should be removed by rollers or other methods, followed by moving and/or heated air drying. Flamebloc GS 700 is not durable in that it can be removed by water, ie. the foam should be re-treated if submerged. or after repeated deep-steam cleanings.Packaging and handlingFlamebloc GS 700 is available in 5 gallon pails, drums, and intermediate bulk container.
