These Seats consist of two identical metal wear rings encapsulated in rubber to form a cylindrical shape with a gate slot and two round ports. The closed Gate bears on the downstream wear ring while the rubber provides a drop tight, pressure responsive seal around the port. This seal is fully effective even when the Gate and the Seat ring are scored or abraded. The cylindrical assembly fits into the matching body cavity and is expanded outward towards the valve ports by the bonnet, which engages pin extensions from both wear rings. This seals the Seat against the body, around each valve port.
