The spice is useful in promoting and regulating menstrual periods. It soothes lumbar pains, which accompany menstruation. Saffron is also beneficial in the treatment of other ailments concerning women such as leucorrhoea. Saffron is used in painful conditions of the uterus. Saffron oil is used as an external application in uterine sores. Boiled 1 tsp of saffron in 1/4 cup of water have reduced it to 1 tsp.This divided  decoction is taken in three portions with equal quantity of water, thrice daily for a couple of days which has significantly reduced menstrual pains, Leucorrhoea.This effectively controls Excessive vaginal discharge, back Pain in abdomen, increases the uterine circulation on the endometrial (inner uterine layer) and its antimicrobial and astringent actions on the mucous membrane of the genital system control leucorrhea. Piper Longum is the important ingredient which is very effective in Leucorrhoea. The powder of Piper longum has a potent action in curing vaginal discharge. Gossypium herbaceum (cotton) and controls hemorrhage of uterine fibroids. It is a valuable agent menorrhagia (abnormal and heavy menstrual flow). This causes endometrial shedding and induces vaginal bleeding and is also useful in dysmenorrhoea.4. Cinnamomum tamala or Indian Cassia Lignea is very useful in Spasmodic Dysmenorrhoea and a group of patients treated with this are relieved from pain. This is particularly useful in female complaints, amenorrhea, and dysmenorrhea.5. Bombax Malabaricum/Gum this is an important drug which helps in female health problem. A decoction of 25 g bark in 250 ml milk is given daily for a month to cure leucorrhoea. All these patients were relieved very fast form vaginal discharge with out any side effects.6. Caryphyllus Aromaticus is useful in females in various problems. It helps to relieve headache, diseases of uterus, and dysmenoorrhea.
