Process NPK 16-16-16 is produced from fine particles of apatite concentrate sourced from Khibinydeposit (Russia) and treated with nitric acid with the addition of potassium chloride (the Group uses Sylvin mineral concentrate) or potassium sulfate.Applications NPK is a high performance complex fertilizer containing, in various percentages, all the basic nutrients required for plants growth. monoammonium phosphate and diammonium phosphate, potassium chloride, calcium phosphates. NPKs can be applied to any soils or crops, for general fertilising or before the planting season. For light soils, NPK is applied in spring; for clay soils and black earth, it is applied in summer and autumn to prepare the soil for spring crops. NPKs balance all soil nutrients and return record yields, making them the fertilisers of choice for farmers all over the world.Packaging and TransportationNPKs are treated with anti-clodding agents to preserve their properties and avoid caking during transportation and storage. NPKs are packed into 20- or 50-kg bags made of polyethylene and polypropylene (with polyethylene liners) or 500-, 750-, 1,000- or 1,200-kg big bags or can betransported in bulk. For retail distribution, NPKs are packaged into 3-kg bags and, additionally, into transport containers.
