It works in all waters, including fresh water, brackish water, seawater, and saturated salt water. It may be used in most mud systems, including lime, gyp, lignosulfonate, polymer, non-dispersed, potassium and others. Normal treatments range from 4 to 8 lb/bbl (11.4 to 22.8 kg/m3),  depending on the make-up-water chemistry and desired fluid loss. A minimum concentration of MY-LO-JEL  is required before a significant reduction in fluid loss will be observed.
