The machines contains generally three types of coils viz., transmitter coil, receiver coil and detector coil. The transmitter coil sends signals to the receiver if any metal is interfered in its electromagnetic field. The signals are received by the received that illuminates the corresponding light in the machine and activate the detector which detects the ferrous or non-ferrous metal particles and then reject those particles through the built-in rejection mechanisms.
