A puff snack is a generic term for an extruded snack. In industrial terminology, puff snacks are known as “collettes”). Although puff snacks are usually made from corn grits, they can also be made from rice, wheat, other cereals, and legumes such as chickpeas and pigeon peas. Puff snacks are either salted or are additionally flavoured with chilli powder or flakes, edible oil, cheese, onion or garlic powder, and spices such as cumin, coriander or star anise.
