Q. What is the difference between titanium dioxide rutile and anatase?

Anatase is the first natural form of titanium dioxide which transforms into rutile at high temperature. It is a colourless crystal mineral while rutile is reddish brown prismatic crystal. Anatase is less hard and denser than rutile; its hardness is 6 Mohs against rutile’s 6.5 Mohs.
