Wheel chocks have to be angled downward and positioned below the vehicle's centre of gravity in order to be effective. To prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards while going downhill, block its front wheels. Chocks should be positioned behind the rear wheels while travelling uphill with the vehicle. Put a chock on the front and rear of a single tyre when you are standing on a gradient that is level.
