This lyophilized powder piroxicam injection is used for the treatment of acute gouty arthritis, acute osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. The lyophilized powder along with the enclosed sterile injectable solvent kit can be reconstituted with water to prepare a 5 ml injection that contains 2 mg piroxicam (as sulfate) per ml of solution. The solution works directly on swelling, pain, and redness associated with soft tissue injury or joint arthritis. The active ingredient piroxicam has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties.
