20 kW DC Brushless, 2 stage Generator was developed to satisfy the Electrical power requirement of an Armoured tank. The generator is directly driven from engine and is controlled by its own Generator Control Unit, also developed by Aero Accessories and Systems Private Limited to deliver 20 kW power at constant 28 V DC for all its large speed variations range of 3500 to 13000 rpm.

The Generator uses high permeability Soft Mag 49 Cobalt Iron material for its magnetic circuit, Class C insulation using Kapton as insulating material and special bearings for high speed and temperature requirements. The generator has a built-in Gear pump and works on engine oil for cooling of generator and lubrication of bearings. The generator works with TSL designed Generator Control Unit to deliver constant voltage and protection functions.
