Omenis-40 omeprazole for injection is an antisecretory agent for intravenous administration. Each ml contains 40 mg of omeprazole as the active ingredient, 9 mg of sodium chloride and 150 mg of mannitol (equivalent to 10% w/w). Omenis-40 is a preparation of omeprazole for injection. It is an inhibitor of the enzyme h+/k+-atpase in gastric parietal cells (chloride-rich principal cells), which is responsible for acid production in the stomach. The active substance omeprazole is released within hours, reaches peak plasma concentrations at around 24 hours and has a half life of about 2 days. Omenis-40 inhibits gastric acid secretion with prolonged action due to its high plasma persistence. Omenis-40 omeprazole injection (omeprazole sodium equivalent to 40 mg omeprazole). Indicated for: short term treatment of duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer and other pathological lesions of the stomach.
