Acrylic Processing Aids

Acrylic Process aids are products in the polymer additives group that facilitate and regulate melt flow with low usage rates in thermoplastic production. Rigid PVC applications have made considerable progress since 1950, when process aids were used. PVC, which degrades when exposed to heat and light, gets rid of this fragile structure only with the support of process aids.

General PVC Applications

PRO 30
The addition of PRO 30 considerably shortens the plasticization time and makes the melt more homogenous. These features provide the opportunity to work at higher temperature and to obtain a final product with perfect surface quality at
higher production speeds.PRO 30 has a low molecular weight. The use of PRO 30 provides high melt strength and a reduction in the amount of plate out (accumulative that occurs on the hot and cold metal surfaces of the plastic processing line contact with the melt).

PRO 40
The use of PRO 40 increases the melting strength and significantly shortens the plasticization time. Longer polymer chains are obtained thanks to PRO 40a s feature of binding and holding PVC chains together, thus increasing melt elasticity as well. It not only provides a balanced wall thickness, but also provides excellent thermoforming capability.PRO 40 has the ability to homogenize the melt in a way that provides a perfect surface smoothness in the final product.

PRO 60
PRO 60 has the same properties as PRO 40, except that its plasticizing time is shorter. It should be used between 5 and 10 percent less than PRO 40.

Foam Applications
PRO 45
PRO 45 has been developed for use in foam applications. The addition of PRO 45 significantly reduces the density and makes the final product surface perfect. It has the highest molecular weight compared to other products in the PRO series. With the addition of PRO 45, as the amount is increased, the ability to hold gas inside the melt improves and this leads to a better foam with lower density. With the use of this highly effective process aid, a stable production is possible.

PRO 70
It is a very high molecule weight acrylic based processing aid designed for applications such as profiles, foam pipes, foam boards, foam profiles and wood composites.it provides better mechanical properties and high efficiency extrusion in foam pipe and foam profile applications due to its molecular weight and more homogeneous melted PVC. Thus, it offers better plasticization, lower torque, high melt resistance and low density. Thanks to its improved mechanical properties, it provides more elasticity and higher strength to prevent tearing. The mechanical properties of the solutions increase with the molecular weight of the processing aids and their level of use in the formulation.

PRO 50
PRO 50 is a lubricating processing aid. The use of PRO 50 reduces the tendency of the PVC melt to adhere to the hot metal surfaces of the plastic processing machine. Thus preventing adhesion and providing longer running time without stopping. It not only reduces the amount of plate-out but also ensures that the final product has a very clean and shiny surface. Pro 50 can be used with other process aids while ensuring melt homogeneity and heat resistance. Other benefits of using PRO 50 in formulations are to increase the plasticization time and reduce torque.
