Ash Handling & Separation System For Wet Scrubber

We have designed ash settling and separation system where the circulating water from slurry is claimed instantly and the ash is separated and automatically loaded into the trolley (no man power required) by-passing ash pit and hence the existing ash pit shall be utilized for circulation feed rate, it means the small pits are cleaned just once in a day or 2.

WORKING : The system consist of thickener ( static clarifier) feed tank inside thickener, clean water overflow channel, clean water tank, slurry pump, piping, vibro screens, and slurry channel, please see the drawing enclosed. The dilute slurry from scrubber is taken to thickener (clarifier) allow filling and settling the ash / mud in the thickener unit. Soon after its fills up, the clean water is collected thrua water channel from top in clean water tank and the same is fed / injected into scrubber again.

The underflow ( thick slurry) of thickener unit is taken to vibro screen by gravity intermittently once in 3 hrs., till thickener is emptied. The physical separation takes place, wet ash is discharged into the trolley and the water is collected by gravity in ash pit for finest separation of ash and water. The ash pit is cleaned once in 2 months as the quantity of vibro screen filtrate and the quantity of mud / fine particles is very minimum in quantity. The make-up water is added in clean water tank below the thickener (Clarifier) as and when needed.
