Berry Pulao

- 475 ml basmati rice
- 5 gms saffron threads
- 1 cup lightly toasted/roasted California walnuts
- 45 gms sugar
- 45 ml very hot milk
- 30 gms barberries or dried cranberries
- 45 ml olive oil
- 1large onion, peeled sliced
- 22 gms salt
- 5 nos cardamom pods
- 4 cm cinnamon stick
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 nos cloves
- 45 ml melted butter
Method

Wash the rice in several changes of water, put in a bowl, cover generously with water and set aside to soak for 3 hours.
