Coal Tar Pitch is a black or dark-brown amorphous residue produced by the distillation or heat treatment of coal tar. It is a black solid at room temperature and exhibits a broad softening range instead of a defined melting temperature. It consists of a complex mixture of predominantly aromatic hydrocarbons. Binder Pitch is widely used in the Aluminium and Graphite industry to manufacture electrodes used in their metallurgical processes.
