An envelope is a regularly used thin, flat piece of packaging. It's made to hold a flat object like a letter or card. Envelopes were traditionally manufactured from paper sheets cut into three shapes: rhombus, short-arm cross, and kite. These forms can be used to manufacture envelopes by folding the sheet sides around a core rectangular region. Four flaps are positioned on the back side to make a rectangle-shaped enclosure. In commercial envelope manufacture, a pocket is a folding sequence in which the last flap closed is on the short side - a configuration commonly used in the packing of tiny quantities of seeds. Only used to load very small amounts of seeds.
