Cotton Meals

These Cotton Meals can be manufactured by using solvent extractions OR oil extractions plant technology using Hexane Solvents etc. "Cotton Seeds Cakes Meals"(de oiled cotton seeds cakes) are residule product after oil extrcted from cotton seeds OR cotton seeds cakes. There are only 0.5 to 1.5 % oils remains in these products, Cotton Seeds Cakes Meals(de oiled cotton seeds cakes).

Cotton Meals are one of two by-products produced when oil is extracted from whole cottonseed. Cottonseed oil can be extracted by using a solvent or a mechanical process. The meal analyzed in this study was generated using a solvent extraction process and was guaranteed to have at least 39 percent crude protein. The comparison values that are used in Table 2 compare this study findings with a 41 percent crude protein cottonseed meal that was solvent extracted. Crude protein contents of 41 or 44 percent are standard in the reference books for cottonseed meal but with changes that have occurred in the extraction processes, less protein is being left in the meal. The gossypol profile of cottonseed meal is closer to Cracked Pima cottonseed than whole short-staple cottonseed. This is why feeding cottonseed meal to very young ruminants is not recommended.
