What is Dactinomycin injection:
Dactinomycin is a chemotherapy medication given to treat variety of sorts of cancer.

This includes Wilms tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, Ewing's sarcoma, trophoblastic neoplasm,

carcinoma, and certain sorts of ovarian cancer. It's given by injection into a vein.


Dactinomycin injection Uses:

Dactinomycin does this by binding DNA at the transcription initiation complex and preventing elongation of RNA chain by RNA polymerase. Pharmacodynamics. Generally, the dactinomycins exert an inhibitory effect on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and on some fungi. The dactinomycins are cytotoxic, they have an antineoplastic effect. This cytotoxic action is that the basis for their use within the treatment of certain sorts of cancer. Dactinomycin is believed to supply its cytotoxic effects by binding DNA and inhibiting RNA synthesis.


Dactinomycin injection Side-effects:
Common adverse drug reaction includes bone marrow suppression, fatigue, hair loss, mouth ulcer, loss of appetite and diarrhea. Dactinomycin is a vesicant, if extravasation occurs.
