This was developed by the Company for use in formulating a wide variety of exterior semi-flexible masonry wall coatings as well as fully functional elastomeric wall coatings. This acrylic polymer provides semi-flexible and elastomeric coatings with an outstanding balance of elongation, tensile strength, and dirt pick-up resistance over a wide temperature and thickness range.When formulated as an elastomeric coating (16 mil dry film thickness or greater), the elongation and recovery properties of the polymer allow coatings to bridge dimensionally unstable cracks without rupturing. Unlike many commercial binders with elastomeric properties, DSC-S 40 acrylic polymer imparts excellent dirt pickup resistance to coatings based on it. As a result, coatings retain an attractive appearance as they age.
