Herbal C Powder
(Natural and Stable
Vitamin C)

In summer, high
environmental temperature alone or accompanied with high relative
humidity causes heat stress which leads to generation of cytotoxic
free radicals that damage cells and the cell membrane, increased
protein catabolism and decreased protein biosynthesis, depletion of
endogenous Vitamin C, immune-suppression, high morbidity and
mortality in poultry and farm animals. The economic losses associated
with heat stress are poor FCR, decreased weight gain in broilers and
farm animals, lowered egg production in layers and reduced fertility
and hatchability in breeders.

Herbal C is a unique feed
supplement which contains natural, stable and highly bioavailable
Vitamin C with higher activity than synthetic Vitamin C. Herbal C
gets fully absorbed and provides self replicating and sustained
activity whereas synthetic Vitamin C is highly unstable and gets
quickly excreted from the physiological system. The active
pharmacophore of synthetic Vitamin C and Herbal C are identical. In
Herbal C, there is natural esterification of active moiety at 2,3
enediol structure. Moreover, dual esterification of active moieties
gives better stability to Herbal C as compared to synthetic
esterified Vitamin C. Further, the greater number of hydroxyl groups
containing many incipient H atoms in the active moiety of Herbal C
provides better solubility and hence better bioavailability as well
as higher activity to Herbal C.


Herbal C acts as a
universal antioxidant which provides protection to cells in aqueous
as well as lipid phase. Herbal C exerts nearly 6 times more potent
antioxidant action (IC50: 43.78 g/ml) as compared to synthetic coated
Vitamin C (IC50: 250.92 g/ml). Special processing of constituent
herbs in Herbal C also ensures high stability to its natural Vitamin
C during storage at room temperature and even at high temperature
pelleting also, whereas the retention and activity of synthetic
Vitamin C is reduced by 10% every month during storage at room
temperature and by more than 80% during pelletisation.


As compared to
supplementation of synthetic Vitamin C, the supplementation of same
quantity of Herbal C in feed gives better response for increasing
plasma and liver ascorbic acid levels and antibody titre and to
reduce hepatic lipid peroxidation as well as to improve production
performance i.e.. growth and FCR in broilers and farm animals and egg
production, average egg weight, shell thickness, and FCR in
commercial layers and breeders, during heat stress in dry-hot and
hot-humid conditions.

USAGE :
To meet nutritional
requirement of Vitamin C in poultry and livestock, more particularly
during summer and other stress conditions and in first two weeks of
life in chicks.
To protect from and
overcome the effects of heat stress in birds and animals and to
prevent heat stress related morbidity and mortality.
To enhance
bio-availability and utilisation of dietary calcium and other
minerals to improve bone mineralisation, egg production and shell
quality and to minimise egg breakage in commercial layers and
breeders.
To improve fertility
and hatchability in breeder birds.
To maintain optimum
physiological functions along with improvement in FCR, better weight
gain in broilers and optimum egg production and shell quality in
commercial layers and breeder birds during heat stress and other
stress conditions.




FEED INCLUSION RATE : 100 gm of Herbal C can be
used in place of 100 gm synthetic Vitamin C, with higher stability
and better activity.
