Implant-grade Stainless Steel Steinman Pin - Usage: For Holding Femoral Fractures

Steinman pins are used to hold femoral fractures in place. The pin is placed into the proximal tibia, followed by the attachment of a stirrup and application of the required traction. The pin is inserted in the usual way. Steinmann Pins are commonly manufactured of implant-grade stainless steel. Steinmann Pins resemble K-wires (Kirschner wires), but have bigger diameters. Trocar, chisel, or spherical ends are common on these pins. Outside diameters of Steinmann pins might be partly threaded or plain.
