Jsw Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (Gbfs)

We are exporting, distributing and supplying wide range of JSW Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GBFS) from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Blast Furnace Slag is a by-product from the manufacturing of steel in a blast furnace. Initially in its molten form, it is diverted to a granulator where it is quenched with water and rapidly cooled to form glassy, non-metallic granules which are silicates and aluminosilicates of calcium. These granules are dried to produce Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GBFS) and then ground to a suitable fineness to produce Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS). When used as a cementitious material in concrete, GGBFS enhances long-term performance and durability characteristics while reducing life-cycle and maintenance costs. We source GGBFS from JSW Steel Ltd. - which is one of the largest steel producers in India.

At JSW, GBFS is ground to a controlled fineness through Vertical Roller Mills with the latest technology and quality control systems to produce GGBFS. The grinding process takes account of mean particle size, grading (particle size distribution) and particle shape, thus giving quality-assured material which is consistent, predictable and suitable for varied applications.

In concrete, JSW GGBFS may be proportioned from 20% to 80% depending on the application. It is substituted for Portland cement on a one-to-one basis by mass.
