Sensing elements of load cells are of strain gauge type configured to form a 4-arm whetstone bridge. Two opposite arms of Whetstone Bridge are energized with dual power supply of 10 VDC source from the associated controls. Under no-load, the bridge is near zero mV. When force is subjected in the direction of sensing plane, the bridge is subjected to imbalance proportional to the extent of loading. Correspondingly, potential difference between other two ends of bridge is increased which is used for amplification. The signal from load cells is amplified to the useful levels acceptable for tension controllers and indicator.
