Mixed-bed Deionization Plant

As the anion resin is lighter compared to the cation resin and it rises to the top, while the cation resin falls to the bottom. After the separation step the regeneration is carried out with caustic soda and a strong acid. Any excess regenerant is removed by rinsing each bed separately.
