A pass box, also known as a pass-through box or transfer hatch, is a specialized piece of equipment used to transfer materials between two controlled environments, such as cleanrooms, laboratories, and food processing facilities. Pass boxes are designed to minimize the risk of cross-contamination by preventing direct contact between the two environments.

Pass boxes typically have two chambers that are separated by a door or other barrier. The two chambers are equipped with interlocking mechanisms, so that when the door on one side is open, the door on the other side is locked. This prevents the two chambers from being open at the same time, which could allow contaminants to pass between them.
