The lotus seed contains a green embryo called lotus seed core, it is very bitter, many people are not used to it, therefore,sometimes the core must be removed.

There are two ways for lotus seeds to remove core, one is to use machines to drill lotus seed core out so that the lotus seeds can be kept intact. The other way is to directly open the lotus seeds in two halves, that is the half lotus seeds.
White lotus seed is directly opened into two half, and pick out shard seed and lotus core by sorting, called half white lotus seed.
