Spacer Layer

The spacer is a a sandwicha of polyester with adhesive on both sides. This is typically designed to be smaller than the dome height so as to allow a slight pre-load on the dome which results in a superior tactile feel. This also includes venting for air displacement during switch actuation, as well as pockets to contain the metal domes in the desired position.
