Efficient backward integration has rendered JSPL as the only sponge iron manufacturer in the country, with its own captive raw material resources and power generation capacity helping the company to monitor both price and quality of its products.

Commissioned in 1991, the Raigarh plant has a manufacturing capacity of 1.37 MTPA and metallic iron content of more than 81%. The plant uses Direct Reduced Iron Process (DRI) method of production and utilizes 10 indigenously developed rotary kilns (6 kilns of 300 TPD & 4 kilns of 500 TPD).
