Sulbactam and cefoperazone for Injection is a parenteral combination of sulbactam, an inhibitor of bacterial cell wall synthesis, and cefoperazone, a synthetic non-beta lactam microbicidal drug. It is used in the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic bacterial strains or in the treatment of infections due to susceptible organisms resistant to monotherapy but susceptible to combination therapy. Cefoperazone and sulbactam for injection is a penicillin-type antibiotic used in the treatment of infections caused by susceptible gram-positive cocci. It is also active against some strains of gram-negative bacteria and it has an antimicrobial spectrum similar to that of first-generation cephalosporins.
