Powders for cutaneous application are prepared consisting of solid, loose, dry particles of varying degrees of fineness. They contain one or more active substances, with or without excipients and, if necessary, colouring matter authorised by the competent authority. They are free from grittiness. Powders specifically intended for use on large open wounds or on severely injured skin are sterilized.

MATERIAL:
The Purified Talc JAILUX is most suitable for the manufacture of cutaneous powder. Either the Purified Talc is sterilized before or the final product is subjected to a suitable sterilization procedure. The dusting powder complies with the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia monograph for Powders for Cutaneous Application.

USES:
Purified cutaneous Talc powder is used as dusting powder to allay irritation, prevent chaffing and fungal infection. Powders for cutaneous application are presented as single-dose powders or multi-dose powders.
