Telmisartan Tablets IP is used to lower high blood pressure. Telmisartan is in a group of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily.Tablet contains: Each tablet contains telmisartan 40 mg. Excipients: Microcrystalline cellulose, Silica colloidal anhydrous, Soybean oil, Carnauba wax (E903), Talc and hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, Methacrylic acid copolymer (1:1) type A and methacrylic acid copolymer (1:1) type B and cellulose acetate phthalate.Telmisartan is used in patients with hypertension and diabetes or renal impairment, with evidence of target organ damage. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor antagonist that inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 type 1 adrenergic receptors in many tissues including arterial tissue, heart, kidney, adrenal glands and vasculature.
