Liquid Terlipressin 1mg / 10ml Teri Injection

Terlipressin is used to treat oesophageal varices that are bleeding. Until endoscopic therapy is available, terlipressin is used as an emergency treatment for acute bleeding oesophageal varices. Patients in arm 1 will receive terlipressin as intravenous boluses with an initial dose of 0.5 mg/4 hr. If there is no reaction, the terlipressin dose will be gradually increased until it reaches a maximum of 2 mg/4 hr. terlipressin lowers blood flow into the portal vein and consequently portal venous pressure and blood flow through portosystemic shunts due to its vasoconstrictive actions on dilated splanchnic blood vessels. Consult your physician if you have any other health concerns, such as kidney or liver problems, breathing problems like asthma, heart problems including unregulated or high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, and so on, before commencing terlipressin medication.
