From twenty-five percent (25%) to eighty percent (80%), sulfur and linseed oil can be found in ebonite. Due to the nature of the reaction that takes place, a significant amount of the sulfur is heavily cross-linked by intramolecular addition at the double bonds, creating ring structures inside the molecule.
