Glycol Monomethyl Ether Acetate is a slow-evaporating solvent with a low viscosity. Silk screen inks commonly employ it. The reaction of propylene glycol ethers with acetic acid produces propylene glycol ether acetates. Propylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether Acetate is a slow-evaporating solvent that contains both ether and ester groups. It's a clear liquid with a slight odour. Many common coating polymers, such as cellulose acetate butyrate, nitrocellulose, epoxy resins, acrylic copolymers, and phenoxy resins, respond well to EastmanTM PM Acetate. EastmanTM PM acetate is a useful retarder solvent for lacquers, thinners, and baking enamels due to its slow evaporation rate and high solvent activity. It comes in the form of a urethane grade solvent.
