Kemclean-K-12(Alkaline Degreasing Compound)(Alkaline Degreasing Compound) Product DescriptionKemclean-k-12 is a heavy duty and efficient caustic-free dip alkaline cleaner used for degreasing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It contains an optimum blend of chemicals to obtain a superior metal cleaning action. Kemclean-K-12 has also a long working life. Because of the presence of efficient detergents and sequestering agents, the kemclean-K-12 can be quickly rinsed from the components after degreasing. Product Specifications a. Pollution Hazard Moderate Product Operating Data Concentration 5% Pointage 45 to 50 ml Dip time 10 min Temperature 60 to 70oC Product Operating ProcedureFill the Kemclean-K-12 tank with 2/3 of water and heat it upto 45oC. Add 5 kgs of Kemclean-K-12 powder in 100 ltr. bath with continuous agitation till the chemical completely dissolved. Fill the tank to the operating level and raise the temperature. Stir the bath and draw bath sample for the determination of pointage. Strength of kemclean-k-12 bath can be increased if the components are heavily contaminated with heavy oil or grease. It is therefore advisable that heavily contaminated components should be pre-dipped in soak cleaner or emulsion cleaner which may help to remove the oil/grease from the surface of the components with in every short time, ultimately pre-dip cleaning will also help to increase the life of the degreasing bath. Maintenance of the temperature is also very important factor. If the temperature of the bath is low the efficiency of the degreasing chemical will be effected even if the concentration and the treatment time are increased. The components should be thoroughly rinsed with over flowing system until unless Kemclean-K-12 is completely removed. Product Application EquipmentKemclean-K-12 tank should be fabricated with 3 to 4 mm thick M.S. Plates with continuous agitation arrangement from a heating unit. Testing and Control ProcedurePipette out 10 ml. Of the bath solution in a conical flask. Add 2 to 3 drops orange indicator. Titrate against N/10 sulfuric acid till the colour changes from yellow to red. The burette reading is the pointage. The pointage of the degreasing should always be maintained at the recommended level. Chemical Replenishment The efficiency of the degreasing bath falls due to the carry over of oils coming from work which gets emulsified in the bath solution and presence of the sludge at the bottom. At this stage Kemclean-K-12 bath should be discarded. Safety MeasuresKemclean-K-12 contact with skin, eyes, mouth and clothing should be avoided and proper safety precautions should be taken by the operators by using gloves, goggles and safety clothing.
