The liver changes the food you eat into energy and cleans the body. Eating a healthy balanced diet protects the liver from working too hard.Dietary Recommendations:1.       Carbohydrates should be the major source of calories in the diet. Simple carbohydrate like glucose Sugar (in the form of jam, jelly and hard candy), fruit and fruit juices and also vegetables like potato, sweet potato can be given. 2.       Avoid coffee and other stimulants.3.       Avoid spicy and highly flavored food. 4.       Strongly flavored vegetable like onion, capsicum, cabbage etc in case of nausea.Food to be avoided:1.       Chips, crisps and nuts-try oven chips instead.2.       Biscuits, cakes and pastry-try low- fat alternatives.3.       Full cream milk and milk products khoa, cream, processed cheese. 4.       Fats like ghee and vanaspati.
